Poll places Montserrat Caballero as MORENA's lead candidate for the mayor's office of Tijuana

Citizens approve of the reelection of the current mayor of Tijuana above all other aspiring candidates

Mayor Montserrat Caballero is 20 points ahead of former boxer Érik El Terrible Morales to be the MORENA candidate on the upcoming elections for the mayor's office of Tijuana. These elections will take place in 2024 in several different places of Mexico, including Tijuana.

The poll by Buendía & Márquez carried out in homes says that 50% of Tijuana natives polled prefer that mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez is the one who leads the MORENA, PVEM, PES, and Fuerza por México coalition so that she can head a second term in the Municipal Administration of Tijuana.

For his part, Érik Morales has an approval rating of 32%, according to this poll's results.

Regarding the remaining aspiring candidates of other parties, the poll states that 77% of people polled have heard of Montserrat Caballero; 69% know of former boxer Érik Morales; 20% know of Jaime Martínez Veloz (PRD); 15% know of Alberto Capela Ibarra (PRI-PAN); 14% know of Marco Antonio Blásquez (PT); 9% know of Karla Patricia Ruiz MacFarland, and 5% know of Bernardo Esquer Peraza (PRI-PAN).

Mayor Montserrat Caballero has earned the trust of the people of Tijuana after carrying out a series of projects in several areas of the city.

Among the projects that stand out, there is the settled bank debt that Tijuana had acquired that had increased to 2.29 billion pesos. It was during the second week of January 2024 when the mayor revealed that thanks to an excellent administrative work, the debt was settled which has allowed the city to access the capital to build public projects.
