Marina del Pilar announces $50 million dollar investment in Baja California

Kenworth will strengthen the construction of electric vehicles in the state

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the governor of Baja California, announced a $50 million dollar investment by car company Kenworth, which has a plant in Mexicali.

Celebrating the 65th anniversary of this company, the state governor thanked the high-level investment for the capital of Baja California, which is a reflection of the trust that has been placed in the state and the value and talent of Baja Californians.

Marian del Pilar also stated that they will always have the support of the state government and said that this are not only good news for the company, but also the environment and families who are part of this company.

The Kenworth PACCAR division will extend to include an electric and gas powered vehicle test area, a cafeteria for more than 3,500 people, and an administrative building.

In her speech, the state governor welcomed the executives of Kenworth and thanked them for believing in Baja Californian talent reflecting this through important investments that make of Baja California a national reference.

At this event, the Secretary of Economy and Innovation, Kurt Honold, the mayor of Mexicali, Norma Bustamante, Preston Feight, CEO of PACCAR, Mike Dozier, PACCAR vice president, and Alejandro Novoa, representative of PACCAR Mexico were all present.
