Montserrat Caballero celebrates 200-million-dollar CFE project

This plan will expand CFE to include several areas of the state, with Tijuana being the one that benefits the most, the mayor stated

Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, mayor of Tijuana, praised the new expansion project presented by the Federal Commission of Electricity (CFE) where more than 200 million dollars will be invested in Baja California, directly benefitting Tijuana.

At a meeting with CFE staff, the mayor learned firsthand the benefits that this new service expansion is bringing to the state, with Tijuana being transformed with several projects that will be concluded until 2034.

"We are very happy and grateful, the state government and the municipal government, with CFE for taking us into consideration, which is why we will help and do everything in our power with the Secretariat of Infrastructure to make this project a reality," the mayor of Tijuana emphasized.

During this work meeting where the Secretary of Territorial, Urban, and Environmental Development (SDTUA), Enrique Bautista Corona, was also present, the mayor reminded the members of the Commission that only a few days ago a third of the city was left with no electricity.

That's why, she thanked CFE staff for coming to the municipal hall, after the surprising downpour that occurred, which showed their interest in investing in projects that strengthen and provide a better service for all people.

The members of the Corporate Management of Engineering and Infrastructure Projects of the Commission revealed to the mayor that the expansion of these projects will have interconnections and direct benefit for Baja California. Tijuana, as the most representative city, will benefit directly when building these projects.

Caballero Ramírez recognized CFE executives for always being in communication with the municipal government and celebrated that they presented a project that favors the population that inhabits one of the busiest borders in the country.
