It is official, there will be pedestrian crossing from San Ysidro to Tijuana through the PedWest port of entry

CBP revealed that starting on Monday, November 20, they will once again begin operations at the PedWest port of entry southbound from San Ysidro to Tijuana.

These facilities will be open 7 days a week with limited hours from 3 PM to 11 PM. Operations northbound (from Tijuana to San Ysidro) will continue 7 days a week with limited working hours from 6 AM to 2 PM.

In addition, Mariza Marin, San Ysidro Port Director, stated:

With the resumption of operations at the Pedestrian West southbound facility, we are taking steps to return to operational capacity and improve the daily life of thousands of travelers in the region who cross every day. CBP will continue to work on enhancing economic and social relations across the border, particularly on the eve of the holiday season.

In addition, they stated that travelers should familiarize themselves with the Know Before You Go section on the CBP website to avoid fines and penalties regarding importing forbidden items. They also recommended that, if you frequently travel abroad and are not a member of a traveler's program, it is a good idea to enroll, which you can do on the official National Security website.
