Governor Marina del Pilar launches "Educando con el Corazón" program for the 2023-2024 school cycle

More than 48,000 children and teenagers have benefited from this program promoted by the governor, which provides a full-time school day

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, led the launch of the "Educando con el Corazón" program for the 2023-2024 school cycle, which provides full-time education, extending the school day for an additional 4 hours. This initiative benefits more than 48,000 minors from at least 306 Baja Californian schools with the goal of comprehensively taking care of students and strengthening their knowledge, keeping them away from antisocial practices that could represent a risk to them.

In her speech to the school community of Primary School Abelardo L. Rodríguez in the city of Ensenada, the state governor recognized the permanent support of the president of Mexico, through the La Escuela Es Nuestra program, which provides resources to parents so that they can carry out the improvements that the schools need.

Marina del Pilar said that every day 300,000 children in Baja California eat breakfast as part of the Pancita Llena, Corazón Contento program, which allows them to study and learn better and have a greater wellbeing while in schools, which is why, through the Secretariat of Wellbeing, they will deliver more breakfasts in the state.

"We will also continue working so that we can keep increasing the number of schools in the Educando con el Corazón program, because to us the most important thing is you, my children who are the main pillar of the public policies of my government, that is, they are the main focus of all the programs that we have in the state government. Because everything we do, we do it thinking of the children of Baja California because when we support them, we support their parents and their grandparents," she told the students present.

Marina del Pilar highlighted that a great part of the work that is developed from the government of Baja California is related to making families use the social aid delivered by the government of Mexico, the state administration, and the municipal government. The goal is to directly affect and improve the quality of life of all people, especially those who have the least, following the principles of the president of Mexico that, for the good of everyone, poor people are first.

For his part, the Secretary of Education, Gerardo Arturo Solís Benavides, stated that at the beginning of this administration they managed to include 198 schools in the Educando con el Corazón program, but as part of the efforts instructed by Governor Marina del Pilar, this number increased to 306, while being supported by the Secretariat of Wellbeing, led by Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui Santillán, to provide breakfasts.

At this event the following people were present: the Secretary of Citizen Security, General Leopoldo Tizoc Aguilar Durán; the mayor of Ensenada, Armando Ayala Robles; the president of the State Council of Social Participation, Catalina Ambriz Jiménez; student of Abelardo L. Rodríguez Elementary School, Emily Morales Martínez; student Diego Magallanes, and school principal Ma. Guadalupe Chávez García.
