Watch out! These are the 8 worst dry dog food brands according to PROFECO

PROFECO revealed the dry dog food brands that are not labeling their nutritional information correctly

Taking care of your pets is a big responsibility; their diet must be adequate and it is important to know how to choose among hundreds of options offered by the market.

Some dry dog food may be able to convince you due to its price or popularity, however, not all of them offer enough nutrients for the healthy development of your pet. That is why the Federal Consumer Agency (PROFECO) carried out a study to determine which brands you really shouldn’t buy.

In this study, options that exist were analyzed and were rated according to nutritional facts and its ingredients.

For the healthy development of your dog, it is important that dog food includes nutrients such as carbohydrates, fiber, fat, minerals, proteins, and vitamins.

Category A. These are brands whose cost is higher, but provide a better quality of ingredients and a high level of protein. The worst rated brands were:

Tiër Holistic, 2 kg, has labels it hasn’t proven and are not allowed. In addition, they exaggerate their quality by saying that they are “Your ally to achieve a perfect balance in your pet’s nutrition”.

Grand Pet Natural Gourmet, 3 kg, gives information to consumers that is not true, and it doesn’t meet the maximum amount of ashes and the minimum amount of declared proteins and fats.

Canidae Pure Goodness Real Duck, 1.8 kg, presents the consumer with information that is not true, as it doesn’t have the minimum amount of protein declared.

Category B. This is dry dog food whose protein amount is rated as medium, due to its great amount of protein, amount of moderate ashes, quality of ingredients, and with an intermediate cost. The worst rated brands were:

Natdog, 2 kg, presents information that is not true, as it doesn’t meet the maximum amount of fiber and declared ashes required, and has labels that cannot fufill the promises “full belly” or “irresistible chicken flavor”.

Grand Pet Carne Fresca, 4 kg, shows information that is not true and doesn’t meet the maximum amount of ashes required and the minimum amount of declared fats.

Respet Republic of Pets, supposedly has 4 kilograms, when it is actually 3.910 kilograms, and doesn’t meet the requirements of minimum fat it declares.

Category C. These are the ones whose protein content is low, ash content is high, and are the cheapest products in all categories. The worst rated brands were:
