This morning at the beginning of the Week of Security and Peace, the mayor of Tijuana, Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, claimed that the three levels of government will continue strengthening unity and security for Tijuana’s families.

During this event which took place in the land where the Otay II Port of Entry is being built and in presence of military authorities and governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the mayor recognized the efforts of those who are committed with the security of Tijuana permanently.

She emphasized the contributions by the Mexican Army and the National Guard with whom, alongside the State Forces of Citizen Security and the Municipal Police, “we will continue working together, so that our families live in peace.”

Caballero Ramírez stated that the common goal among the three levels of government is to decrease the crime wave inherited by past administrations and that is the reason that this message of unity was given today, looking for peace for all Baja California and, especially, Tijuana.

It is necessary to recognize that there is a problem and from there we can begin a solid, strong, and, above all, intelligent strategy to fight crime.

The mayor claimed that a historic number of weapons and drugs have been seized in her administration in cooperation with other agencies.

The Week of Security and Peace will take place today Monday until June 30, with the strengthening of security at the Otay Centenario limit, with coordinated patrolling by the three levels of governments in order to decrease crime rates in neighborhoods such as Las Torres, Nido de las Águilas, and 10 de Mayo.

All services regarding wellbeing and welfare by the Municipal Administration, the State Government, and the Federation will be available, and public spaces and sport events will be recovered in order to strengthen the social fabric of this area.
