A party of around 400 people was suspended by staff from Tijuana’s Municipal Administration when they realized that attendants were drinking alcohol despite not being of age.

Following instructions by mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez and under the supervision of the Secretary of the Municipal Government, Miguel Ángel Bujanda Ruiz, agents of the Inspection and Verification Agency went to a house in Colonia Balcón Las Huertas.

When they arrived here, they located young people who stated that they had paid $200 pesos to be admitted into this event and have access to alcoholic beverages despite them being minors.

Agents started to vacate this house and contacted these minors’ tutors so they could come and pick them up.

On this operation, the municipality was supported by members of the Municipal Police, the Mexican Army, and the National Guard in order to safeguard those who were attending this illegal party.

The 24th Municipal Administration of Tijuana reiterates to parents that they need to supervise the places where their children go to, and encourages people to report events that could potentially harm minors at the WhatsApp number (664) 616-3339.

With these actions, mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez’s administration reaffirms its commitment with Tijuana families, by maintaining a zero-tolerance policy for those who break the law and risk the integrity of young people.
