The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, led the second auction of properties in her administration, which consisted of public properties in order to allocate resources for programs meant to aid families in the state.
This Property Auction for a Cause follows the principles of making the best of people’s assets and aid those who need it the most, which is one of the main guidelines promoted by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

At this event, $43,403,867 pesos were collected, a much higher number than in the first Auction for a Cause which took place in August 2022.
In the presence of representatives of several institutions involved in this task, Marina del Pilar emphasized that in previous administrations, these properties were sold to friends of government officials, without anyone ever finding out, which is why this public meeting on Thursday represents a significant change regarding transparency.

The state governor highlighted the work carried out by the Administrative Office of Baja California during this process and added:
We want these auctions to happen very efficiently, very responsibly, and honestly where all citizens contribute and I think that really helps a lot to obtain resources that will be used and allocated to a noble cause to benefit the entire state.
Marina del Pilar stated that, since she took office in November 2021, several strategies were analyzed to obtain resources that could be used to benefit people, which is why the sales of public assets done in a transparent manner and respecting the rule and certainty of law has been applied to strengthen the state’s finances.
We are not just a government that is following the law, but that also applies justice honestly and transparently.
At this event the following people were present: Major Official of the government of Baja California, Rocío López Gorosave; Coordinator of Administrative Services of the Secretariat of Finance of Baja California, Karina Ramírez; Judicial Director of the Secretariat of Honesty and Public Services, Dulce María Mendívil; Judicial Counselor of Baja California, Juan José Pon Méndez; ISSSTECALI Director, Dagoberto Valdes Juárez; and the head of INDIVI, Saúl Osnaya.
