Looking to buy some land? Government of Baja California will auction property in Tijuana and other municipalities

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, has announced on social media that a property auction located in several areas in the region will take place; these areas include Playas de Rosarito, Ensenada, Mexicali, Tijuana, and San Felipe. The governor has claimed that this process will be made with transparency and fairness.

Ávila Olmeda has shared the following on social media:

Friends, we have listened to your stories about how land used to be sold by the government in the past… in the dark and with no transparency. Now, all properties are auctioned publicly and transparently in our Auctions for a Cause, and all the funds will go directly to social programs.

She also shared a document where one can see all the properties that will be auctioned next Thursday, June 15. Here is the link where you can check the complete catalogue. The following are some examples:

Mexicali

Tijuana

Tecate

Ensenada

San Felipe

Rosarito

In addition, it is important to know that you need to meet the following requirements:

1.- Certified check with at least 10% to 100% of the value offered, processed with at least 24 hours of anticipation at Collectors’ Offices addressed to “GOBIERNO DEL ESTADO BAJA CALIFORNIA” or “ENTIDADES PARAESTATALES,” as applicable.

2.- Purchase proposal. A position on your purchase regarding the properties that interest you in written form and in a closed envelope.

3.- Natural person and/or legal representative, official ID, contact info (address, telephone, and email), general power given before a public notary.

4.- Judicial person, name, or trade name, constitutive act of business and/or civil association properly registered before the Public Registry of Property and Commerce, as well as the Legal Representative’s General Power, given before a public notary, by a person authorized to do so.

In addition, the following people won’t be able to participate:

1. Foreigners

2. Natural persons or judicial persons who don’t meet these requirements.

3. Federal, state, or municipal public officials, as well as their spouses and direct relatives, without any degree limits, distant relatives all the way to the fourth degree and relatives by marriage all the way to the second degree.
