Governor Marina del Pilar delivers economic aid for the wellbeing of Baja Californian families

More than 30,000 families will receive economic aid to pay for water in the state through the “Con el corazón por delante” program

The government of Baja California, led by Marina del Pilar, will benefit more than 30,000 families in the state with economic aid through the "Con el Corazón por delante" program in order to address Baja Californians’ basic needs.

During Marina del Pilar’s Tuesday morning press conference, she explained that this program benefits 30,334 families with an investment of 50 million pesos, a resource which is allocated to improve directly families’ economy through water payments in selected homes.

“This aid will be of 1,000 pesos for families in Mexicali and San Felipe, while for the municipalities of the eastern coast, Tijuana, Ensenada, Playas de Rosarito, Tecate, and San Quintin, the amount will be 1,8000 pesos which will be given from June to December of this year,” she explained.

To get this benefit, applicants should submit copy of their voter’s ID with a Baja Californian address, a recent water bill, CURP, proof of income, and proof of address of the person looking for aid.

Of the 50 million pesos destined for the program, 25 million were delivered to Tijuana, 8 million to Ensenada, 5.9 million to Rosarito, 4.5 million to Mexicali, 2.5 million to Tecate, 2.4 million to San Quintin, and 1.25 million to San Felipe.

The program, she said, is another part of the actions promoted by her administration based on the principles laid out by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to help those who need it the most, who for decades were forgotten by governments who only looked out for themselves before serving the people. It should be noted that this program applies for people with income lower than 13,000 monthly pesos.

She added that the Secretariat of Wellbeing provides support to help vulnerable groups, as has been the case with programs such as the one that benefits seniors 60 to 64 and 11 months of age, or the Violet Card, which is transforming the lives of women who are heads of family in the state.

She stated that more than 65,000 seniors in Baja California have a right to apply to have water bills exemptions; this also applies for people with disabilities and widowed women who are older than 50 years of age. This is part of a public policy focused on improving the quality of life of all people.

The governor reaffirmed her commitment with improving wellbeing conditions, in order to eradicate insecurity and inequality, while also improving the quality of life for Baja Californians. She added that she will continue working with her heart above all alongside the Government of Mexico to address the community’s requests and “bring wellbeing to all groups that need a supportive hand from authorities that for many years they did not have.”

Lastly, the Secretary of Wellbeing of Baja California, Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui Santillán, stated that to apply for this card, which will begin to be given next June, those interested must show up at any of the several offices of the Secretariat of Wellbeing of Baja California with the necessary documentation. He emphasized that having other benefits from any other social program from the government of Baja California will not affect anything in the slightest.
