The governor held a meeting with neighbors of Colonias Azteca and Mayos, located in western Mexicali

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, pointed out that they will continue to hold community meetings in the state in order to listen firsthand to the needs of the population, as well as provide assistance to the community with support from several state agencies which are in charge of acting in order to benefit families.

"Today we are seeing a change and that is what we are creating in Baja California, because after many years of abandonment we have a lot of challenges, but we also have our heart above all that is allowing us to reach the places where it is needed the most,” the state governor said.

At this latest meeting, carried out in Unidad Deportiva Azteca Mayos in western Mexicali, hundreds of people gathered with direct requests for the governor and members of her work team.

As such, she explained that when she was the mayor of the 23rd Municipal Administration of Mexicali she addressed the historic demand of restoring Avenida Oaxaca, which benefited thousands of residents of nearby neighborhoods that were looking to access their homes and study and work centers.

On the other hand, the Secretary of Welfare of Baja California, Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui Santillán, explained that the sports unit was restored with a football field, synthetic grass and nets in the goalposts. In addition, the basketball court, the exercisers, the stands, the walkways, and the perimeter fence were also restored with an investment of 4,633,000 million pesos to benefit 2,000 people.

The state official added that Governor Marina del Pilar’s instruction is for them to visit all neighborhoods to closely assist people, helping them reach programs such as Tarjeta Violeta and Ilumina tu Día, and promoting the family economy and the capacity of all people to live a proper life.

Meanwhile the director of the State Commission of Utilities of Mexicali (CESPM), Armando Carrazco López, explained that in the area there is a sediment truck to unblock sewers, directly addressing the reports that come from each home. It should be noted that, with that goal and with instructions by the governor, seven trucks like these were acquired.

Marina del Pilar stated that, under the assignment of not staying in a desk and going around the land, they will continue to visit neighborhoods in the state, learning about the needs of the population, and they will continue to establish an authentic solution path for families, always helping those who require priority assistance.
