Restaurant Lazzo de Tinto reveals a very different and delicious… barbacoa beef cheek taco!

On this latest episode of Baja Window to the South, we learn about the new dish by Lazzo de Tinto

This week on the Baja Window to the South show, hosts Olga Sánchez de la Vega and Denitza García visited some of the most interesting places of Baja California: from a brewery in Ensenada to restaurant Lazzo de Tinto.

As such, this episode which has been one of the most interesting in the history of this program, made our hosts meet some great characters of the region such as rapper and activist Danger and Luis Enciso, also known as “El Curry”, a great political and satirical cartoonist, whose work has been nominated to the Pulitzer Prize. That is not all, however, as we also visited one of the most interesting surfing spots for surf lovers in Baja California.

The tour began at Cardera Brewery in Ensenada, one of the best breweries in the region, where you can find internationally awarded craft beer. There, some of the most original and delicious craft beers of Baja California were tasted. According to the owners, the name of this brewery is a combination of the last names of its creators “Cardenas” and “Ramírez”.

On the other hand, Danger shared some of the things that have made a mark in his successful life as a rapper and activist. According to what he shared, literature has been an essential part of his formation, since with it he is able to “live several lives” through books, which is why they are fundamental for this rapper.

The next interviewee was Chef Richard Chiñas of restaurant Lazzo de Tinto at Playas de Rosarito, who made a delicious beef cheek taco barbacoa style, one of the newest dishes at this prestigious Baja California restaurant. The chef said that this taco was a very different kind of barbacoa.

Similarly, we also spoke with political cartoonist Luis Enciso, known as “El Curry”. His work is very appreciated and has even been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and other world press cartoon contests. He said that he started working when he was 6 years old and when he was 16, his father told him if he wanted to work at El Heraldo and from there, the rest is history.

Lastly, we went to the surfing spot at San Miguel, which is the ideal place for advanced surfers located in Ensenada; interestingly, this is also one of the best rest spots in Baja California. “You will see amazing waves and you will have fun no matter what,” it was stated.
