Governor Marina del Pilar participates in National Security Meeting

The meeting took place in Veracruz, where they thoroughly reviewed points that need to be strengthened regarding security matters

The National Cabinet Security Meeting took place today in Veracruz, led by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, where they planned nationwide security strategies. During the meeting, where the governor of Baja California Marina del Pilar was present, they spoke about the key points that need work in order to bring peace to all Mexican people.

At this meeting, they addressed issues regarding the fight against nationwide fuel theft, specifically in the state of Baja California, where important results have been achieved in order to eradicate this crime. This was accomplished by the permanent coordination between State Security Forces (FESC), the National Guard (GN), the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), and the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR).

The president pointed out that fuel theft is a very powerful criminal activity, which is why in the name of the government of Mexico, he urged people to protect themselves and not participate in this illegal activity so that the situation can remain in control by authorities. Governor Marina del Pilar agreed with this position and with the actions that are being carried out in Baja California through the Coordination Council of Security Matters.

“The federal government is looking to create opportunities and wellness for the population so that they don’t see crime as an alternative,” López Obrador said, which is why Marina del Pilar backed the president’s national security policy which is focused on eradicating the causes that create violence such as margination and lack of opportunities. This is why she underscored that state government investment has been generated and historical operations have been carried out to build, alongside the government of Mexico, a successful social policy.

As such, Marina del Pilar thanked the President of Mexico and his team’s willingness in having Baja California as a priority regarding security matters, as they have deployed an important number of National Guard members and have set up bases in key areas of the state, which is why results are being achieved regarding the fight against crime.
