Yesterday, Thursday December 1st, 2022, young Tijuana native athletes traveled to Mexico City where they will have their last pre-game meeting before going to Guatemala where they will compete at the World Junior Racquetball Championships.

From December 4 to December 11, this prestigious tournament will take place where Sebastián Ruelas, two time medal winner at the National CONADE 2022 competitions, and Hermann and Kerman Gracia will try to win, not just for Baja California, but for all of Mexico. The three of them are being coached by Baja Californian trainer, German Gracia.

Ruelas will arrive as national singles champion in the 14–15 year old category, while the Gracia siblings will make their international debut in the children’s category.

In addition, this will be Ruelas’ fourth participation in a world competition, with one of his highlights being the gold medal won in doubles and silver in singles last year; this competition also took place in Guatemala.

On this occasion, this athlete who emerged due to the Sports Talent Program by the Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of Baja California will join up with Diego Romano from the state of Nuevo Leon, while in mixed doubles he will join up with Miranda Barragán from Chihuahua.

The Mexican team is the clear favorite to win this competition and consists of a delegation of 30 people, 25 of them being players and the rest being trainers.
