The general coordinator of National Meteorological Services (SMN), Alejandra Méndez Girón, revealed that winter storms are coming and will cause a drop in temperatures in several areas of Mexico.
Alejandra Méndez mentions that, so far, 51 cold fronts have been forecasted of which 12 have already happened in the country. According to information by SMN, there will be around 7 to 9 winter storms, which will particularly affect the northern area of Mexico.
In the state of Baja California, and specifically in Tijuana, the first storms have occurred already, which have caused material damages and loss of human lives. These storms were part of a period of tropical cyclones that began on May 15 and ended on Wednesday, November 30.

The next storms will be part of the winter season. Besides the state of Baja California, northern states such as Sonora, Chihuahua, and the northern part of Coahuila will also be affected. Storms will be accompanied by cold fronts.
The coordinator pointed out that this is one of the most active seasons of the last 50 years. She recommends taking preventive measures and avoiding exposing oneself during these times.
