This Tuesday, November 8, Governor Marina del Pilar spoke with the young students of Colegio de Bachilleres (School of Baccalaureates) of Baja California, where she thoroughly explained the main commitments fulfilled during her first year as state governor. In her speech directed at students, she emphasized the importance of education.

In addition, the governor listened to the points of view, concerns, and needs of the young people that were present in order to improve the actions by the state government.

The state governor explained to the young people her experience in her public and political life, as well as the main challenges that she faces as the first female governor of Baja California. At this meeting, the students asked the governor questions and spoke about their interest in participating to improve their community.

Marina del Pilar reiterated that in her administration’s first year more than 378,000 aid deliveries were made which include school supplies, scholarships, school bags, among others, so that students can move forward and conclude their studies, as this is the best tool so that they have a future with better opportunities. The governor also spoke about her state school transportation program where more than 1,900 students are driven to school every day.

“That is why we are betting on scholarships: to tell you as young people that we are the owners of our own destiny and all of you have the great opportunity to decide what you want to do with your lives. We can become whatever we want to become,” she stated. The governor spoke about her career in order to motivate students to always give their very best.

Lastly, Marina del Pilar spoke about the importance of maintaining values and to take responsibility of one’s own decisions so as to follow your dreams and achieve all of your goals, while positively impacting society.
