Marina del Pilar’s investment in infrastructure is higher in 1 year than in the previous 5 years put together

The governor thanked President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for joining efforts with her administration

Thanks to financial restoration and a permanent coordination with the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the government of Baja California will have an investment of 1.5 billion pesos during the first 14 months of the current administration, 20% higher than the amount invested in the last five years put together.

This was emphasized by the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda during a meeting with people called “Un año latiendo juntos" which took place in the city of Playas de Rosarito.

Together with more than 10,000 people, Marina del Pilar presented the main pillars and activities of the first year of her administration, highlighting at least 22 public projects of the RESPIRA program, which are all focused on transforming the mobility of Baja California by emphasizing the main cities of the state.

"With the commitment of improving the lives of working people, we have boosted an important package of public, transparent, and efficient public projects, which have been personally supervised by me, to be finished at the earliest possible time, and with the appropriate budgets which were planned so that you could go home quickly and safely to the most important task a head of a family can do: going back home to their loved ones, after working hard to give them a bright future,” she said.

Marina del Pilar stated that this investment number relates to the period between November 2021 and October 2022, and it is six times higher than the yearly average of the five previous years, which is why she emphasized that these results are and will continue to be felt by all people.

In front of federal, state, and municipal officials, members of the legislative and judicial branches, business leaders, civil society representatives, media outlets and Baja Californian society, the governor spoke about the main challenges and accomplishments of her public state administration, and underscored that this year, relevant efforts were made regarding economic promotion matters. That is how they obtained important foreign investment resources that convert to jobs and wellbeing for families, since it creates the necessary actions to transform the state into a center of value focused on innovation and knowledge.

On the other hand, Marina del Pilar highlighted that between January and September 2022, Baja California received 22,9 million visitors at its different tourist destinations; 9% higher than the amount during the same time period before the COVID-19 pandemic. This is why she highlighted the commitment of the Baja Californian tourism industry to organize and overcome all different challenges and difficulties brought on by this pandemic, as well as their permanent willingness to coordinate with the state government, avoiding a greater loss of jobs and keeping alive one of the state’s main economic activities.

The governor of Baja California highlighted the permanent coordination that her administration has had with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador regarding several matters in order to move forward with several issues in order to benefit families; among these, there is public security. There are now more National Guard agents that are working closely with state and municipal organizations and have accomplished important results such as a substantial drop in the homicide rate.

As such, the governor also spoke about an intensive program to install surveillance cameras and reader arches in the main cities of the state in order to see in real time what occurs in the streets and strengthen coordination to resolve these problems.

“But we are not just allocating important resources to roads and preventive technology, we are also boosting the rescuing and construction of green and high-quality public spaces that you can enjoy with your family. These are two safe giant parks where you can practice sports, stroll around, and get together every day,” she emphasized.

Governor Marina del Pilar thanked the support of several of society’s sectors, the government of Mexico, and each of the state’s municipalities, for their constant coordination with the State Attorney General Office, the Judicial Branch, and the State Congress, as well as the permanent work with her team of collaborators. Together, all of them have worked with their Heart Above All (Con El Corazón por Delante) in order to transform the state so that everyone can live better.

It should be noted that at this event, the national president of MORENA, Mario Delgado Carrillo who stated that he supports Marina del Pilar, also spoke about the unity between all representatives of the Fourth Transformation of Mexican public life.
