Baja California is one of the best places to invest in Mexico since, so far this year, foreign investment has exceeded 1,2 billion dollars, stated the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda.

Thanks to a recent promotion tour for Baja California that took place in France and Germany, an investment of approximately 142 million dollars has been confirmed.

It should be noted that, from the total investment received, 23.5% was allocated to transportation of natural gas through ducts, followed by the manufacturing of plastic products with 8.8%.

The governor stated that Baja California has a growing direct foreign investment flow, where the highlight is the United States as the country that has invested the most with 75.3% in the last five years. In the first semester, 7 of every 10 dollars invested came from this country.

If we consider the country of origin for these investments, Spain’s investment percentage is 6.53%, Korea’s is 2.97%, Canada and Japan’s is 1.81%, Ireland’s is 1.5%, and France’s is 1.29%.

To conclude, the governor emphasized that economic development represents wellbeing for the state’s families, which is why concrete actions will be strengthened in order to promote industries with higher technological and valuable content such as electromobility, biotechnology, information technology, and creative industries. The private sector, meanwhile, will have absolute certainty regarding their assets and investments.

To accomplish this, Governor Marina del Pilar summoned industries and the education sector to create a talent pool, which will consider current trends and opportunities that the CaliBaja region provides so as to bring together regional skills that currently exist here, especially in the technology sector.
