Governor Marina del Pilar condemns violent incidents in San Felipe

These violent events occurred on Tuesday night and resulted in two deaths; the culprits haven’t been caught

On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, around 18:40 PM, a group of armed hitmen attacked the chief director of the municipal police Ramón Valdez Salas, when he was trying to leave his residency at neighborhood Playas, in the municipality of San Felipe.

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar, released a statement on social media condemning all kinds of violent acts. At the same time, she said that the state government is completely willing to bring support to the family members of officers who were attacked by criminal groups.

The armed attack left two people dead, among these, the subdirector of police Erik Aguilera Barajas. The hitmen were driving in three vehicles when they raided and shot willy-nilly. This was reported by newspaper ZETA. Police officers responded to the attack, but they were overwhelmed by their numbers.

Erik Aguilera Barajas, subdirector of the municipal police and commander Norberto Ornelas Nava, lost their lives in these armed attacks. Valdez Salas was unharmed.

The State Prosecutor of Baja California, Ricardo Iván Carpio Sánchez condemned these incidents, which resulted in two officials murdered. He added that they will solve this case and arrest these criminals quickly and with the necessary force.
