Walmart at Galerías Hipódromo is the most expensive supermarket in Tijuana

During today’s press conference, on September 12, 2022, basic basket product prices in Mexico were revealed.

According to the National Consumer Prices Index (INPC) there has been a general considerable price increase, although not in the 24 products that are part of the basic basket, according to PROFECO.

The cheapest prices are in the state of Baja California at $940 pesos. The best option is supermarket LEY, with a basic basket price of $940 pesos. Meanwhile, in northern Mexico, Monterrey is the city with the cheapest basic basket prices at $919 pesos.

Sonora is the northern state with the highest prices with a maximum of $1,136.80 pesos and a minimum of $1,057.95 pesos, which is why last week it ended up being described as the state with the least favorable prices for consumers.

Regarding the city of Tijuana, it is not that far behind. Once again, it is the fifth city with the most expensive prices with Walmart at Galerías Hipódromo having the highest prices at $1,099.65 pesos.

It is followed by Sonora, Saltillo with prices being at $1,130.70 pesos, Nuevo León at $1.124.20 pesos, and Chihuahua at $1,117.78 pesos.

Baja California Sur, which is part of the central-northern area with Aguascalientes, Durango, Jalisco, Michoacán, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, and Zacatecas, has one of the highest basic basket prices at $1,133.90 pesos.
