Marina del Pilar thanks deployment by the Secretariat of the Navy after violent incidents in Baja California

This deployment was explained during a press conference in Mexico City

Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda thanked and recognized the upholding of peace due to the immediate deployment by the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR) and the state’s other security forces.

In a press conference that took place on Monday in Mexico City, the head of the Secretariat of the Navy Admiral José Rafael Ojeda Durán stated that the institute under his command acted immediately in Baja California since it is their sphere of influence, especially Tijuana, Rosarito, and Ensenada.

In addition, he explained that, in Tijuana and Playas de Rosarito, there has been coordination with the state government since a month and a half ago, in which SEMAR deployed officers for special operations that were carried out in these areas.

"We thank the support by the president of Mexico Andrés Manuel López Obrador, as well as the head of the Secretariat of the Navy, Admiral José Rafael Ojeda Durán, who has been expeditious and comprehensive in order to safeguard Baja Californians ", the governor stated.

Ávila Olmeda explained that there are currently 400 SEMAR officials, as well as 4 ships, 25 vehicles, and 2 helicopters that are being included with other institutes' forces so as to maintain peace in Baja California.

She said, during the Coordination Council regarding Security Matters, that they have been assigned different tasks as a response to the criminal acts that took place in the last few days,

"I want to express my greatest appreciation to the absolute disposition by SEMAR that are safeguarding the unity of our society and the administration that I lead against any challenge that is trying to destabilize society ", she concluded.
