Monsoon weather is known for its marine tropical air mass that creates weather conditions contrary to the current season, bringing rain in summer and dry weather in winter. This week, these weather conditions will remain in the San Diego and Tijuana region.

According to the National Weather Service, monsoon weather will bring rainfall with a risk of electric storms in some areas of San Diego. In northeastern Mexico, including Baja California and Tijuana, it is expected that a barotropic cyclone from Texas increases probability of rain.

It should be noted that the warning for these weather conditions will remain active until Wednesday, August 17. Besides rain probabilities in the border regions, monsoon weather will also increase temperatures in several different areas of California, such as causing extreme heat in Sacramento and San Joaquin.

During the last few days, humidity and heat have been more pronounced in both border cities which is why rainfall may bring an increase in feelings of heat and humidity.
