Marina del Pilar ensures freedom of speech in Baja California

The Baja California Governor recognized the dedication of media outlets in Baja California

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, Governor of Baja California, reiterated her commitment in protecting and guaranteeing freedom of speech in the state, highlighting those who are in charge of informing people about events that happen in the region day by day.

During the Freedom of Speech Day celebrations, accompanied by communicators and journalists in Mexicali, Ávila Olmeda recognized the daily effort that it takes to bring information to society.

In her speech to media outlets in Mexicali, the governor expressed her commitment with openness, as well as guaranteeing transparency and the free flow of information in the state.

She pointed out that it is a priority for her administration that journalist institutions get correct information about the things that are carried out by the State Government of Baja California, so that this reaches the public all together.

Because of this, the governor recognized the dedication and work of those who work in journalism, as well as their drive in innovating when it comes to creating new platforms and growth in social media.

“In my administration, you have my guarantee that we will always look to have the best relation with media outlets. Know that we are a government that respects and recognizes your efforts,” she stated.

Marina del Pilar underscored that her administration will keep working to guarantee that all people in Baja California can express themselves freely while enjoying all of their human rights.

She thanked the openness that media outlets have had in spreading the messages from the state administration and said that there is a daily struggle to be had so that freedom of speech continues to exist both in Mexico and Baja California.
