The wine of Baja California is being recognized more and more abroad as one of the best wines in the world. Everyday it is more frequent to find that one of the region’s wines has won a competition or has won an international award.
This time, the winner was a wine from Viñedos de la Reina, a vineyard located in Valle de Guadalupe that has existed for 10 years. Roberto Curiel, the founder, had a vision to begin this wine adventure in order to produce the best quality wines.
The wine that won a Gold Medal in Brussels was Syrah 2019. According to the official Viñedos de la Reina Facebook page, it represents unique qualities of the Baja Californian valleys:
We are very proud to share that our Syrah has once again won in Brussels' International Wine Competition. Our 2019 vintage is a Côte-Rôtie (Syrah and Viognier) style with the unique qualities of the Baja Californian valleys. We congratulate the team for the honor given to our wines.
This is undoubtedly the result of the years its creator spent studying and discovering the region, not to mention their dedication. As their official website says: “With his own self-demand facing against a new challenge, he began the search of land with the best conditions to harvest vine.”
