Tijuana, nominated as one of the best vacation destinations in Mexico and Central America

The city stood out as one of the most attractive vacation spots in Mexico

World Travel Awards published a list of the nominees of the 29th annual World Travel Awards in Mexico and Central America, where some of this continent’s touristic attractions are awarded.

Among these nominations, the city of Tijuana was nominated under the “Mexico & Central America's Leading City Break Destination 2022” category, competing against other Mexican cities such as Acapulco, Cancun, Mazatlán, Mexico City, Oaxaca, and Playa del Carmen.

Central American cities that were also nominated include Belize City, Panama City, and San Jose in Costa Rica.

If Tijuana wins the award, it would be the fourth time that it gets it, with the other three being in the 2017, 2018, and 2019 editions. The city was also nominated in 2020 and 2021, but didn’t win.

Mexico leads in all categories, which is why it is considered one of the favorites to get most of the awards that World Travel Awards will award in the next few months.
