One of Wisconsin’s most wanted men was detained by San Diego CBP officers, it was revealed last May 13. According to the CBP official website, this arrest occurred at the San Diego-Tijuana border crossing:
“U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the border crossing between San Diego and Tijuana took an 18-year-old fugitive, wanted in Wisconsin for homicide and on the run for over a year,” the media release states.
Both this fugitive and another teenager were accused of shooting and killing a person in Milwaukee last February 6, 2021. The victim had graduated from UW Whitewater and was 22 years old.
Apparently, the murderers wanted to mug him, but the victim resisted which ended up costing him his life. The young attacker fled and was only recently captured, one year after the attack.
Anne Maricich, Deputy Director of the San Diego Field Office for CBP, hopes that by bringing in this young man, it can give some comfort to those who knew the victim and claimed that she will make sure that fugitives do not go free and face their day in court.
The arrest occurred at 4:30 PM approximately, last May 9, when the fugitive walked through the San Ysidro port of entry, looking to get into the US through Mexico. The CBP officer carried out a routine inquiry through the data base and discovered an arrest warrant for murder.
