Governor Marina del Pilar will sign agreement to increase electric subsidies in Baja California

The governor assured that this economic agreement will benefit thousands of Baja Californian families

MEXICALI.- The Governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, announced that an agreement will be signed with the Federal Commission of Electricity (CFE) that will allow an increase of 100 million pesos of electrical energy subsidies for the state.

The governor explained that every year this subsidy has amounted to around 600 million pesos. Thanks to work carried out by her administration, this subsidy has increased to 700 million pesos to help Baja Californian families, especially those in Mexicali.

It should be noted that there is a notorious electrical energy increase, especially in the capital Mexicali, due to high temperatures registered in the summer which translates to a higher utility fee, which makes things harder for thousands of families.

Marina del Pilar stated that the state’s Secretary of Finance, Marco Moreno Mexia, is currently in Mexico City carrying out the last few actions necessary so that the agreement can be signed in the next few days.

She added that this subsidy agreement will include San Felipe for the first time as a constituted municipality, since this port also registers above average temperatures in the summer.

"We are making this announcement to help people from Mexicali and the rest of the state. We will be signing this subsidy agreement soon to benefit the economy of all families in the state", said Marina del Pilar.
