Volleyball World Beach Tour will take place in Rosarito this March

32 teams, 16 female and 16 male, will participate and among these, two Mexican teams will compete

Are you a volleyball fan? You were probably expecting this tournament’s announcement: Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Elite16 Rosarito 2022 will take place from March 23 to March 27 in Playas de Rosarito.

The Tourism and Convention Committee of Playas de Rosarito (COTUCO) invites you to this event: the only beach volleyball tour where the best athletes, from Olympic to worldwide and continental championships will meet face to face. This is an important step for those athletes who are looking to get a place in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, not to mention that they’ll also be competing for cash prizes.

It should be noted that it is an achievement of the Baja Californian state that this event is taking place in Playas de Rosarito, for several TV channels and worldwide digital platforms will be witnesses to this competition.

The event was endorsed by the International Federation of Volleyball and will use logistics used in professional, elite qualifying tournaments. It will take place in an assembled stadium with a capacity for 4,000 people and another one for 500, as well as two training courts.

This will also help the local economy, for the participants will be staying in hotels of Baja California, which will also benefit restaurant owners and commerce overall.

In total, 32 teams, 16 female and 16 male will participate, Among these, two Mexican teams will compete, each one in each category. This means that 32 matches will take place with a prize of 350,000 dollars, as well as points given for the next Olympic Games qualification.

On Wednesday 23, the preliminaries will take place. 16 male and 16 female teams will compete for 4 places to get into the main tournament. The matches will begin at 9 AM and end at 9 PM.

On Thursday 24, the tournament among the 16 best teams in the world begins, and between this day and Friday 25, the quarterfinals qualification matches will be played; the biggest attractions of this tournament. On Saturday 26, the quarterfinals will occur as well as the semifinal, while on Sunday 26, the third place match and the finals will take place.

Rosarito will become one of the Mexican cities that will host this great event in 2022, before the World Tour goes to South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and ends in Oceania.
