Baja California could end up under yellow traffic light once again

Currently, people between the ages of 20 and 39 are the most infected

One week after Baja California was changed to be under the green traffic light due to a decrease in Covid-19 active cases, the Secretariat of Health revealed that the state may go back to the yellow traffic light if active cases continue to rise. This is why they are encouraging the general public to keep following health measures even if we are under the green traffic light.

According to the Head of the Assessment and Follow-Up Unit of ISESALUD, Néstor Saúl Hernández Milán, there are currently 571 active registered cases in the state, 52 of which were confirmed in the last 24 hours. He also explained that health measures should be continued to avoid possible outbreaks.

We are in the very thin line of going back to yellow if we are not careful, which is why it is important to follow the corresponding sanitary measures

Furthermore, it was noted that people between the ages of 20 and 39 were currently the most infected age group. This is why there was a general call for people in this group to get their booster shot or, in case they haven’t got any at all, to get their first vaccination, for their effectiveness is well proven.

Preventive measures such as the usage of face masks in enclosed spaces, safe social distancing, antibacterial gel, and good ventilation of areas will remain in force, all of this so that the state can stay under the green traffic light.
