US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that five lanes of the San Ysidro terrestrial port of entry that are used to cross to Tijuana will be closed due to scheduled construction work.
The lanes will be closed starting Monday, February 28 during working hours, from 5 AM to 1:30 PM, and it is expected that the work is finished in the next 6 to 10 days. CBP is recommending all travelers to take into account delays when crossing from San Ysidro to Tijuana, follow traffic signals, and slow down for construction workers.
Additionally, plaques will be installed for ditches that are dug during concrete hardening to minimize traffic impacts. Construction workers will be present during this period of time to help the continuous traffic and ease construction vehicles' movements through the road to Tijuana and inside the port.
People who travel should expect delays, look out for traffic signals, and reduce their speed.
