Tijuana’s Otay II Border Crossing will reduce environmental impact, it is claimed

It is expected that its construction will end in 2024

This Monday, the Binational Meeting in San Diego to report the Otay II Border Crossing Project advances took place. On this occasion, Governor Marina del Pilar was present and claimed that this new border crossing will bring several benefits to Baja Californians.

In this event, United States ambassador, Ken Salazar, Lieutenant Governor of California, Eleni Kounalakis, San Diego mayor, Todd Gloria, among others, were all present.

It should be noted that with the Otay II Border Crossing it is expected waiting times to be reduced and border crossings to be speeded up. This will bring great benefits to tourists, as well as reduce environmental impact, and it is hoped that it will be in operation by 2024.

The Governor also committed herself to maintain coordination with federal authorities to get the necessary support to finish the project properly and on time.

It should be noted that during the meeting there were more than 50 local, state, and federal US and Mexican representatives, which have joined interested regional parties of both countries for a binational summit that underscores the importance of developing the Otay II East Port of Entry.
