Under instructions of Baja California Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, coordination with federal authorities is maintained regarding infrastructure projects that the Mexican Government is developing in Tijuana. These include improvement in customs, the Otay II Border Crossing construction, and the elevated viaduct that will connect Tijuana Airport with Matadero Canyon, which then connects with Playas de Tijuana.

”I was in a meeting with the military engineers of SEDENA and members of the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation. We are coordinating and reviewing the work for the Otay Mesa II Border Crossing project,” the governor stated, informing people that this is an issue that is being worked on accordingly.

The governor analyzed, with members of the Mexican army, pending issues and advances regarding the improvement of customs, proposing actions in matters that fall to the state administration.

State and federal authorities also reviewed advances regarding the Tijuana Airport-Matadero Canyon elevated viaduct as well.

Marina del Pilar has stayed vigilant about these projects, monitoring the different areas of opportunity to improve the development of the Otay Mesa II Border Crossing, which is being handled by the Mexican Government.

Regarding this issue, the participation of the Secretary of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territorial Redesign (SIDURT) led by Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, will be essential so that the necessary complementary projects can be carried out.

The arrangement between the Mexican Government and Baja California was to start off with periodic meetings to review advances and create reports that will be delivered to the President of Mexico.
