Starting Monday February 7, 2022, cold weather is expected in Baja California, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported through an official statement by the Government of Mexico.
In an extended 96-hour forecast, CONAGUA released a statement that mentions what the meteorological systems will cause in the different regions of Mexico, and specifically, Baja California.
For this Monday, February 7, and Tuesday, February 8, wind gusts of 60 to 70 km/h are expected with light whirlwinds. Minimum temperatures in the early morning will be -5°C to 0°C in the mountainous zones of Baja California.
On Wednesday, February 9, wind gusts of 50 to 60 km/h are expected in the entire region; only a slight change. Minimal temperatures in the early morning will still be -5°C to 0°C, especially in the mountains.
For Thursday, February 10, winds of 60 to 70 km/h are forecasted, as well as low temperatures of 0 to 5°C in the mountainous zones.
Due to this, it is recommended that all people take precautions. Special care must be given to sick and elderly people and children and it is important to try to avoid, as much as possible, any exposure to strong winds.
