A residential area in Tijuana has the highest number of Covid-19 infections in Baja California

It is recommended that safety measures be strengthened on February 2 for Candlemas

In order to protect the health of Baja Californians, the Health Department made public which residential zones need to limit mobility for non-essential activities, since they have the highest concentration of Covid-19 infections in the state.

The head of the Follow-up and Assessment Unit, Néstor Sául Hernández Milán, pointed out that today’s georeference indicates that the residential zones with the highest number of cases are Ciudad Morales in Mexicali, Buenos Aires Sur in Tijuana, El Sauzal in Ensenada, and Camino Verde in Tijuana.

It was revealed that the residential zone with most infections in Tijuana, for third week in a row, is Buenos Aires Sur with 166 active cases, followed by Camino Verde with 31, Pedregal de Santa Julia with 19, Francisco Villa with 16, and 3 de octubre with 15, which is why it is important to be careful when traveling in these areas.

Colonia Hidalgo and Benito Juárez in Mexicali, as well as Popular 89 and Zona Centro (Downtown) in Ensenada, are also included.

At the same time, he recommended that safety measures should be strengthened in reunions and meetings on February 2nd for Candlemas celebrations, so as to avoid Covid-19 chains of infection. He also invited people to avoid eating high-calorie foods in excess.
