In Baja, California, Marina del Pilar launches the initiative "With the Heart for More Parks."

The significance of striking a balance between green and residential areas in cities was emphasized

To establish Baja California as a pioneer in green spaces, Governor Marina del Pilar vila Olmeda presided over the launch of the "With the Heart for More Parks" initiative in the Natura subdivision, which aims to create and renovate parks in collaboration with civic and commercial society.

In her speech, the president emphasized the significance of maintaining a balance between green and housing areas in cities; as the state's first female Governor, she recommended promoting a strategy that restores these spaces to benefit the general public.

"I will state unequivocally that under my government, I will not allow communal places to be sold or land to be provided in deplorable circumstances. Our cities must have new lungs where our daughters and children may walk, run, ride bicycles, and participate in sports, "she stated

It should be mentioned that the Governor named Luis Lutteroth del Riego, the President of the CDT, as the Honorary State Coordinator for the establishment of urban green areas, in recognition of the plans that said body might make with the goal of creating immediate improvements in the neighborhoods.

The Tijuana Development Council (CDT) and the Aruba company, which developed the subdivision, will actively participate in the Natura Park development to improve the communities and support the local population, which is interested in having green spaces for recreation and health.

This initiative will include the restoration and rehabilitation of existing areas, the construction of new green spaces, and collaboration with the public and private sectors on their design, equipment, and preservation.

Marina del Pilar presented the citizens of Tijuana, Mexicali, Ensenada, Playas de Rosarito, Tecate, and San Quintin. They will support the parks in Tijuana, Mexicali, Ensenada, Playas de Rosarito, Tecate, and San Quintin, beginning with the first phase of six projects that will be expanded in the coming months.

According to the Governor, "it is critical that Baja Californians have fresh lungs," thus, there will be a collaboration with civic society to form boards and manage the finances needed to renovate the places.

Carlos Torres Torres, the Coordinator for the Reactivation of Public Spaces; Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, the Secretary of Infrastructure; Mónica Vega Aguirre, the Secretary of the Environment; Marisol Plascencia, the Representative of Fractionation Natura; and Carlos Legarreta Pérez, the Representative of Ruba, were all present at the ceremony.

Marina del Pilar signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations.

On the other hand, the Governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, signed a collaboration agreement and memorandum of understanding with the UN Development Program to unify criteria between the State Development Plan and the UN Development Program. This will allow both parties to collaborate on several issues of great importance to the State.

According to the president, this agreement will also allow for measuring and quantifying compliance percentages to rectify the social agenda's and sustainable development's trajectory. Migration, mobility, the environment, health, education, human rights, the fight against corruption, and, most importantly, a focus on the young and women's sectors are all on the table.

"The idea is that we collaborate and work together in our State Development Plan, which allows us to comply and measure since what is not measured cannot be remedied," Marina del Pilar explained.

The Governor highlighted that Sustainable Development focuses on enhancing current living circumstances while not risking future generations' resources, emphasizing the significance of tackling these challenges immediately.

She recalled that the Executive Commission of the so-called Agenda 2030 was established in CONAGO in 2016. The monitoring body for the Sustainable Development Goals was established in Baja California the following year, but without considering civil society, academia, or the private sector, which he considered an omission.
That is why, she claims, he promptly changed the command to include the sectors in question, ensuring that all opinions are heard.

"This Global Agenda is a chance for our government to engage together and jointly in the big global problem that we confront," Avila Olmeda stated.

According to Lorenzo Jiménez de Luis, a representative of the United Nations Development Program, the organization's involvement will entail putting professionals in each area addressed at the State's disposal.

Most of the state cabinet and the President of the Colegio de la Frontera Norte, Albero Hernández Hernández, and civil society members were present for the signing of the memorandum of agreement.
