45 minors have died from COVID-19 in Baja California

3 thousand positive cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed among Baja California children and adolescents

Almost two years after the pandemic caused by COVID-19, the number of active cases of this virus continues to increase, as well as the number of deaths, with 45 confirmed deaths due to coronavirus in minors in Baja California throughout the pandemic, and most of them had a comorbidity, as confirmed by the head of the Secretariat of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico.

The head of the agency detailed that so far 3 thousand positive cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed among Baja California children and adolescents, of which 350 had some comorbidity.

According to the census carried out by the corresponding authorities, in Baja California there are more than 28 thousand minors with comorbidity, however so far, only half of the doses are available.

At the same time, he reminded parents not to go to the medical units with the intention of having their child vaccinated, since only those minors who were previously registered in the portal will be immunized.

We have had twelve intubated minors, twelve of which are children who have comorbidities, unfortunately children with comorbidities are immunosuppressed, this allows COVID to enter and the child has to fight not only with their basic disease, but also with these opportunistic diseases, he stated.
