Several media outlets have shared information stating that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirms that crossing into the United States for fully vaccinated people could be allowed starting this Friday, October 22nd until January 22nd, 2022 without any type of restriction.

However, this information is the opposite of the notices shared on the official pages of the DHS, including a publication on Wednesday, October 20, which stated that border restrictions will be lifted until November 8, 2021 for travelers who are fully vaccinated and have a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19, in addition to having any of the vaccines accepted by the World Health Organization (WHO).

As previously announced, starting Nov 8, travelers from Mexico and Canada who are fully vaccinated for #COVID19 may enter the U.S. for non-essential travel via land and ferry ports of entry.

And they are not the only ones, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) also announced through its official Twitter account, that the border restrictions will be lifted on the date stipulated from the beginning.

Restrictions continue to apply to non-essential travelers who are not fully vaccinated.

They also added that as of January 2022, people making essential or non-essential trips must have a complete vaccination schedule, in addition to presenting an official certificate to prove it.

It should be noted that these rumors regarding the sudden reopening of the border are completely false.
