Mexico is out of the "top 20 countries" with more new cases of coronavirus

Cases at both the national and state levels have been gradually decreasing

During the update shared by the government of Baja California, the Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico announced the COVID-19 infection rates both nationally and statewide, according to the latter, Mexico has dropped out of the Top 20 countries with the highest number of new cases, ranking 30th with 1,993 recent infections.

As for the municipalities with the highest number of cases at the national level, three Baja California municipalities remain within the Top 20; Mexicali rises to number 5, Tijuana drops to number 9 and Ensenada drops to number 16, it should be noted that these municipalities have been decreasing their cases, so they may also be dropping places.

Regarding the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases as of today in the municipalities of Baja California: Mexicali has 735 active cases, Tijuana has 678, Ensenada 379, San Quintin 124, Rosarito 78, Tecate 52 and San Felipe 32. It is important to mention that all municipalities have one or more active cases less.

The issue of vaccinations for children between 12 and 17 years old with comorbidities has been a priority for the Secretary of Health, so today he announced that he expects the confirmation of the arrival of 14 thousand vaccines for this group, Pérez Rico commented that these biologics are expected to arrive today.
