Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador met in Ensenada with Baja California Governor-elect Marina del Pilar Ávila to sign the Agreement for the Regularization of Vehicles of Foreign Origin, thus guaranteeing support for her administration for the following years.

"Let it be well known, let it be heard far away, that we will continue working for the benefit of the people, it was the people who supported us to reach the presidency of the Republic and we will not fail the people of Mexico, the people of Baja California," said the national president during his speech.

According to the Mexican Government, through this agreement, the legalization of 500 thousand irregular vehicles in the state of Baja California is projected, and with the resources collected from the process, intensive road repair programs are expected in the cities of the border states.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador highlighted that Baja California has given the best results to the Fourth Transformation, by having a complete carriage in three consecutive elections, preventing the conservative wing of Mexican politics from winning any seat in the Chamber of Deputies representing this state.

The Governor-elect of Baja California thanked the President of Mexico for his comments and pointed out that there is total interest in collaborating with the federal government to coordinate public policies and move forward with projects that benefit the Baja California society, such as the regularization of irregular vehicles, which will be the responsibility of the next administration to consolidate for the benefit of the owners.

The first woman to govern the state pointed out that there are hundreds of thousands of families in the state that are not in conditions to acquire a new car, so they buy irregular units to work, take their children to school or carry out their daily activities, so this is an act of strong social benefit.

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda was also present at the inauguration of the Benito Juárez University in San Quintín, an academic institution that seeks to significantly improve the lives of the youth of San Quintín, being a trigger for the development and welfare of the sixth municipality of Baja California, where fishing and agriculture prevail.

Present at the signing in Ensenada were the head of the Secretariat of the Interior (SEGOB), Adán Augusto López Hernández; Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection; Tatiana Clouthier Carrillo, Secretary of Economy; Gabriel Yorio González, Undersecretary of Finance; Rabindranath Salazar Solorio, Undersecretary of Democratic Development, Social Participation and Religious Affairs and Armando Ayala Robles, Municipal President of Ensenada.
