Baja California will remain under the yellow traffic light

The state went to orange coloration at national level

After Baja California went orange at the national level, the Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico, clarified that the state will remain under the yellow epidemiological traffic light according to the monitored indexes.

It was feared that this week new restrictions to premises and businesses would go into effect, as well as a possible suspension of on-site classes, however Pérez Rico affirmed that these will continue and, for the time being, the measures will not be tightened, since the sanitary protocol has avoided more COVID-19 infections.

Recently, 40 thousand first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 8 thousand 190 second doses from Pfizer arrived in Baja California.

The application of the vaccine in Tijuana will be at the Government Center (Imos) for first and second doses.

To date, Baja California has 432 active cases, of which 106 are concentrated in Tijuana, 305 in Mexicali, 6 in Rosarito, 10 in Ensenada, 2 in Tecate and 3 in San Felipe.

At national level, during the last week, the tourist states of Quintana Roo, Guerrero and Oaxaca have been classified as green or low risk of coronavirus infection.
