During the daily report from the Government of Baja California, Baja California's Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico, reported that the state has shown a notable rebound in the increase of COVID-19 cases after they had declined weeks ago.
According to the general report of the virus in the world, Mexico has entered the Top 10 countries that have gained more cases in the last 24 hours, the figures of these reach 10 thousand 139 new cases in one day.
At the state level, all Baja California municipalities have gained at least one case in the last 24 hours, being Tijuana and Mexicali the regions that have shown an incidence from 5 to 7 days, besides being the municipalities with the highest number of cases with 69 and 61 respectively; likewise, Mexicali has entered the Top 20 of gross active cases in the country.
Pérez Rico added that there have been 4 consecutive days in which cases in the State have been increasing, he also commented that Baja California does not have time to prolong active cases as it happened in the first wave (in which the increase of cases lasted up to 3 months) due to the winter season, if these cases do not decrease they will rebound during winter due to low temperatures and viral diseases.
