Since Amazon announced that it would open a headquarters in Tijuana, the news became a trend and most citizens supported the initiative. However, later, a series of photographs shared by Omar Martínez went viral.

These photographs showed the Amazon warehouse in contrast to one of the poorest areas of Tijuana. In the photographs Amazon's facilities stood out around small houses and rooms in poor conditions.

On the other hand, Amazon responded to the criticisms generated by saying that more than 250 new jobs will be offered, while the business sector applauds the entry of new investments to the city.

According to the U.S. newspaper The San Diego Union-Tribune, Amazon's spokeswoman in Tijuana informed that the warehouse will begin operations on September 22, which means less waiting time for some products in the region.

These products could even arrive the same day to Tijuana, while delivery to Mexicali, Tecate, Ensenada, Rosarito could be as quick as one day.
