No states in red, Mexico updates the epidemic traffic light classification

8 Mexican states have been upgraded to the yellow traffic light status

The Secretariat of Health (SSa) announced the most recent update of the COVID-19 epidemiological traffic light, which will remain in effect for the next 2 weeks.

In the last 24 hours, 17 thousand 409 cases were reported, as well as 725 deaths caused by the infectious disease. Currently, the national accumulated number of infections is 3 million 405 thousand 294, while deaths total 262 thousand 221.

There will be 17 Mexican states that will keep the epidemic traffic light at the orange level for 15 days, 13 at yellow and 2 at green, eliminating the red traffic light for the time being. The classification is presented below:

There are 108 thousand 655 active cases in the country, marking a 14% reduction with respect to last week.

Hospital occupancy in the territory decreased slightly to 48% of general beds and 43% of beds with ventilators, which treat more severe cases of the disease.

According to official figures, the Mexican Republic has achieved that 65% of its population over 18 years of age has received at least one dose of the vaccine against COVID-19, registering a total of 86 million 307 thousand 586 doses administered.
