Tijuana and Mexicali residents between 18 and 39 years old could receive vaccines from the U.S. this week

This was announced by state authorities on Monday

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine that the United States shared with Mexico for the border cities of this country, is expected to arrive in Baja California in two days, said the governor of this state.

"We are very happy because Mr. President has offered us one million vaccines for the range of 18 to 40 years old, the Johnson & Johnson that will be arriving in the next two days to start that vaccination".

As previously reported, with this vaccine, which only requires a single dose, not only would the population that has yet to receive the drug in the State be vaccinated, since as is known, those over 40 years of age are already being vaccinated, but it is also what will allow the total reopening of the border with the United States, assured the head of the Secretariat of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico.

It is worth mentioning that the registration page for Baja Californians between 18 and 39 years of age is not yet available, so they are invited to keep an eye on the official media of the health authorities.

According to Pérez Rico's report, among the people who received one or two doses of any of the vaccines against COVID-19 in Baja California, more than one million doses have been applied in the State, 1 million 90 thousand 121 to be precise.

Vaccination continues for adults 40 years of age and older in the different municipalities.
