The hundreds of businesses in Tijuana on Avenida Revolucion had a respite from the large influx of tourists that visited the city, leaving an economic revenue of 1.7 million dollars during the last 5 days of Easter Week.
According to Julian Palombo Saucedo, president of the Tijuana Tourist Merchants, close to 20 thousand visitors came to Tijuana where they spent an average of $85 dollars each in different businesses.
The rebound of sales in restaurants, hotels and stores represented a monetary recovery for the locals, many of which closed during the COVID-19 pandemic and have now been benefited by the opening of gauges.
The behavior of the tourism sector serves as an optimistic indicator, since the vaccine has already been applied to millions of people, so the risk of infection decreases, although of course, health protocols must continue to be respected in order to get out of the current situation as soon as possible and live together as we used to do before.
