76 people were hospitalized and 29 intubated due to COVID-19 in Baja California

The Secretary of Health said that hospital occupancy in the state only confirms that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet.

Hospital occupancy for Covid-19 continues to show a gradual increase in Baja California, registering this Saturday 10.24%, while on Monday, March 29th it was 8.39%.

The patients who woke up yesterday hospitalized in the state due to this disease are 76, as well as 29 more who are intubated, informed the head of the Secretariat of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, who highlighted that the tendencies of the latter are on the rise.

At the same time, he said that the above figures only confirm that the COVID-19 continues in the state, so he urged the population to take care of themselves and be co-responsible, especially during these days when crowds can be observed in different places.

In addition to this, the Effective Reproduction Rate (ER) in Baja California is about to reach one, today it is 0.95, meaning that one person with coronavirus in this territory can infect two more "at least", emphasized Perez Rico.

San Quintin, Mexicali and Ensenada report an ER of 1.23, 1.15 and 1.07, respectively.

So far, Baja California has accumulated 44 thousand 858 positive cases and 7 thousand 723 people who have lost their lives so far in the pandemic. There are 320 cases still active: 141 in Mexicali, 130 in Tijuana, 27 in Ensenada, 12 in Rosarito, five in San Quintin, and five in Tecate.
