The COVID-19 pandemic is still present in Baja California; however, there are many people who are planning to visit the different tourist destinations in this state during the current Easter Week.
But in case you are a tourist or if you are not up to date on how the state will operate during this holiday period, here is the most relevant information.
As the epidemiological traffic light for Covid-19 will remain yellow until Sunday, April 4, these are the permitted activities and capacity in the different municipalities of the region:
- It was recently informed that Tijuana Beaches will also be added to the activities allowed during Spring Break, which will have a capacity of only 50%, and it will be necessary to wear a mask and keep a social distance of four meters.
- Another important point to highlight is that the State authorities authorized a 100% capacity only for hotels and restaurants, in order to reactivate the economy during these dates.
- On the other hand, the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), informed that starting this Thursday and until Sunday, April 4, an operation will be carried out in Tijuana, in order to avoid vehicular accidents, since these are the days with the highest number of automobiles.
- Specifically in Ensenada, in addition to redoubling the protocols for COVID-19, authorities shared that "Ensenada al Fresco" will continue this weekend on First Street in the downtown area of this city.
- On the other hand, the U.S. Consulate General in Tijuana, shared these 6 tips for Americans who will be traveling or are in Baja California:
- Last but not least, Civil Protection of Baja California asks the population to respect hygiene and safety measures for COVID-19, respect speed limits, wear seat belts, keep an eye on weather forecasts and avoid going to crowded places.
The head of the Secretariat of Health in Baja California, Alonso Perez Rico, expressed this Thursday that, "right now is the most dangerous moment for meetings, because everyone thinks that the pandemic is over, because they are not taking care of themselves, because the measures are being relaxed and now is when the transmission chains will start", so he invites not to lower the guard since health authorities have warned about a third possible wave of COVID-19.
