After being questioned about the possibility of closing restaurants due to the upcoming celebrations for Valentine's Day, the head of the Baja California Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, commented that this is being analyzed, however, he said he is sure that restaurateurs will respect the permitted capacity, which is 30%.

In addition, he said that on that day the agency will be monitoring this specific activity in all the municipalities of the state to verify compliance with this capacity.

In view of the downward trends that have been observed in the last weeks in the entity, Perez Rico pointed out that the agglomerations during this date will only cause that there is no change of coloration in the COVID-19 epidemiological traffic light chart, as it has been commented recently.

"Look, the only thing that can cause us to break the favorable trend and change the coloration are the crowds, that we start packing people, and if that happens this day, that festive date, then we are going to delay the coloration change and what we can cause is going to be a second wave of infections," he stated.

The Secretary also added that so that there is no confusion about how much is the 30% of the capacity in each restaurant, this issue will be explained and detailed.

"The capacity is not 30% of what I have license or allowed; if I have a capacity of 3 thousand people, I can not put a thousand people to my restaurant, it is an example," he mentioned.
