9 out of 10 Mexicans will be vaccinated against COVID-19

Mexico is the country with the highest acceptance rate of anti-COVID vaccines in Latin America.

The University of Maryland conducted a study in collaboration with the platform ''Data for Good'' in order to record the acceptance rate of the anti-COVID vaccine in each of the countries around the world. According to the data provided by the survey, Mexico has positioned itself as one of the territories with the highest percentage of citizen approval to receive the dose against the SARS Cov-2 virus, accounting that 88.7% of its inhabitants are open to the administration of the vaccine.

In the research, a great increase in the reception of the vaccine was noted since the beginning of the execution of the study on December 21 last year, which continued research until February 2021.

According to the statistics recorded, no state in the Mexican Republic showed a percentage lower than 80% (although neither did they reach 90% readiness), being Colima the state with the lowest rate by approving the application of the dose at 80.914% and Hidalgo the highest with 89.1%.

The platform ''Data for Good'' was an initiative implemented by Facebook whose main purpose is to help institutions and official organizations to count data that allow them to follow up on the development of the pandemic in their territories, which collaborates in the creation of contingency plans, monitoring of areas with active cases, vaccination programs, etc.
